Levi Anderson - Health Care Scare
Levi Anderson (beevyarr ) of Coal Valley, Illinois knows first hand that the health care crisis in our country is a real emergency. 8 years into paying off unreasonable and inflated hospital bills has kept him struggling to find a way to invest in much needed health insurance that is supposed to be a citizen's only protection against injury-induced bankruptcy. He put up our most recent poster dealing with this crisis outside the emergency room of his local hospital to demonstrate just how fucked up things really are in our "alleged" health care industry and became the latest winner in our T4 "Join the Revolution" Poster Contest.
Levi says, "Why should we have to foot the bill for our politicians health care with our tax dollars when we can't even afford our own. Health care costs just keep on rising and insurance is just out of reach for most working people in this country. And for many, financial collapse is a real possibility when faced with a medical emergency. Something about that just doesn't seem right. And yet, nothing ever seems to get done to correct it. I really appreciate that The T4 Project focuses attention on these critical issues facing our country and the world today and does it with some really amazing music and social consciousness."
Levi started out working in media, shooting low-budget video for independent artists and local businesses. Always the entertainer, Levi then began to perform stand-up comedy, and found that addressing social and political issues through an entertaining and unapologetic way, helped to open discussion and fuel the collective with reason to question authority and institutions. While he still views himself as an entertainer, Levi says that he has realized that his skills enable him with means to do more than traditional media outlets have, and he feels a responsibility to use them for more journalistic endeavors.
